Thomas C. Bothen, CCIM.
Thomas Bothen, CCIM, is Director of Investment Analytics at One Chicago Realty in Oak Brook, Ill. During his 35 years in commercial real estate, he managed several hundred million dollars of lease negotiations, initiated development of a 900,000 square foot industrial property for a major international company, and has managed numerous construction projects. He gained portfolio experience on a national basis with Balcor where he managed over 60 properties in various asset classes.
Bothen has been a CCIM Institute instructor since 2000 and is the director of the graduate real estate program at University of Illinois at Chicago. He also teaches Chinese to MBA students at UIC and is adjunct professor at Roosevelt University in Chicago a real estate finance course.
Bothen earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Loyola University in Chicago and his MBA in Finance and Economics from University of Chicago.
Nowadays Thomas Bothen is also Head of not-for-profit organization United Way and Board Member of the local educational fund.
CCIM Course СI 102 «Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate»
One of CCIM’s most innovative courses, CI 102 shows you how to deploy “big data” and the most advanced digital tools to assess critical issues like market demand, location facility, and supply-chain strategy. CI 102 students have learned BAO mapping and data analytics to help their clients select store locations; others used Tapestry Segmentation to determine demand for apartment properties. In CI 102 you’ll work with four case studies covering each of the major property types: office, industrial, multifamily, and retail.
To receive the maximum benefit from this course, students are advised to download all electronic materials provided at the course site; complete all practice problems and actively participate in classroom activities and discussions. This course is designed to be interactive, so student discussion and questions are welcomed.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- apply Market and Competitive Analysis, Political and Legal Analysis, Location and Site Analysis, and Financial Analysis to make fundamental investment decisions;
