Urban Week united authorities, business experts and citizens

November 17 – 23 St. Petersburg hosted the International Urban Week. Urban Week included 20 events, featuring urban planning, development trends and plans. Professional discussions, conferences, open lectures, presentations of books and magazines were organized during 7 days. The event attracted more than 1700 participants. It became a platform for efficient communication between authorities, business experts, representatives of public organizations and citizens. International urban experts shared their experience bu participating in discussions and delivering open lectures during Urban Week.
As a result, it was decided to make Urban Week an annual event.
During Urban Week authorities shared some state initiatives. Anatoly Kotov, Chairman of Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg, announced that 17 state programs have been already included into the state budget. These programs contribute to implementation of the strategy 2030. Irina Babiuk, Head of the Committee for Investment of St. Petersburg, told that the committee is about to introduce Investment strategy for the next 15 years, aiming at increasing city investment attractiveness. Also the authorities announced plans to make a Coordination Council for protection, management and promotion of UNESCO heritage list “Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments”.
LLC “Glavstroy-SPb”, “LSR. Real Estate – North-West”, LLC “YIT St. Petersburg” companies got Customers loyalty award from Marat Oganesian, St. Petersburg Vice-governor.
Future St. Petersburg, annual forum organized by RBC Media Holding, focused on development of construction sphere in the next 2-3 years.
